 A career pathway in Business Education offers a strong foundation for further study in finance, management, computing, interactive media, and small business development.

Financial Management - Accounting Career Pathway

Four major specialties make up the accounting industry – public, management and government accountants and internal auditors. About eleven percent of accountants own their own businesses.

Financial Management Services Career Pathway

Financial management services includes a wide variety of fields including banking, insurance, real estate, investment, and personal wealth management. Overall, employment of financial analysts and advisors is expected to increase.

Interactive Media Career Pathway

Occupations include web designer, webmaster, 3-D animator, virtual reality specialist, multimedia producer and graphic artist. Job prospects in the motion picture and video industries are excellent for multimedia artists and animators, film and video editors and others skilled in digital filming and computer generated imaging.

Small Business Development Pathway

Entrepreneurs, innovators, and small businesses play a key role in the U.S. economy. According to the Small Business Administration, there are 813,100 small businesses in Georgia. Continued opportunities for small business ownership are great.

Courses of Study:

Business Essentials

A foundation course for the Small Business Development Career and Financial Management – Accounting Pathways. It is also appropriate for students who plan to own and operate their own
businesses. The course helps students build a strong knowledge base as they study forms of business ownership, functions of management, budgeting and finance, technology, communications, legislation, leadership and teamwork, marketing, and economics.
